Wth the box, the clients receive 2 putty of impression material (alginate ?) to mix in a plastic tray and the clients mail the impression tray to the company.
What method do you think they use to produce the custom tray ? look basic but effective.
I haven't had any actual experience with these kits, however looking at the website, the 'custom tray' appears to be a standard plastic tray (they probably provide a few sizes) and then a polyvinyl siloxane putty used. I hope the 'clients' have better luck taking their own impressions than I did taking my first few on patients!
Unless I am misunderstanding the process, I don't think a custom tray is used at all. From what I can see, they simply use a stock standard plastic tray (like an alginate tray) for the impression. This is then sent to the lab. However, I could be wrong...
I live in Mechanicsburg PA and Dr. William Spruill and Dr. Lillian Wong delivered the highest quality dental care while providing a comfortable family environment. Dentist Mechanicsburg PA placed a whitening gel in a tray that fits over your teeth. As the active ingredient in the gel, carbamide peroxide, is broken down, oxygen enters the enamel and bleaches the colored substances. The structure of the tooth is not changed; only the tooth is made lighter and whiter. Fillings, Crowns, and Bonding will not lighten.
A dental impression is a copy of the mouth made using an elastic material. It is a negative of the mouth into which plaster or dental stone is placed in order to made an accurate copy of the mouth. Impressions are taken for diagnostic reasons and to construct various types of dental appliances.
A solid liquid material such as alginate or polyvinyl siloxane is dispensed into the tray. It is then placed onto either the upper or lower teeth so it covers the entire dental arch including the roof of the mouth for an upper impression, and the floor of the mouth and under the tongue for lower impression.
