- This Privacy Statement outlines our policy on management and protection of the personal information we hold about our members. Our policy is to respect the confidentiality of information and the privacy of individuals.
- This Privacy Statement will be reviewed from time to time to comply with new laws and take account of changes to our operations and practices. Any personal information we hold will be governed by the most recent Dental Chat Privacy Statement.
- Generally when we ask for personal information we will state the purpose for its use and to whom it may be disclosed. We collect your personal information to provide our services to you, to fulfill administrative functions associated with these services, such as billing, and for marketing and member relationship purposes. We may share your information with related entities of Dental Chat. If we do this we require those entities to protect your information in the same way we do.
- We hold personal information in a combination of secure computer storage facilities and paper based files and other records and take steps to protect the personal information from misuse, loss or unauthorised disclosure. We will maintain records for such period as is required by law.
- Whilst we will try to ensure the personal information we maintain is accurate, you must ensure that you keep us up-to-date with any changes to your personal information, such as a change of postal address or email address.
- You may obtain a copy of any personal information which Dental Chat holds about you and may request correct of any perceived inaccuracy. We will acknowledge your request within 14 days and respond to it promptly. We may charge a fee to cover the cost of verifying your application, retrieving and copying any information and providing it to you. We will advise you in advance of the likely costs.
- If you consider that any action of Dental Chat breaches this Privacy Statement or otherwise fails to respect your privacy, you can make a complaint by using our Contact Us page. We will respond to you promptly. If you are not ultimately satisfied with our response to your complaint you can contact the Privacy Commissioner's hotline on 1300 363 992.
